Prayer Requests & Updates

Andrea Delorenzo was not able to have her chemo treatment last week because of low platelets. This week the doctor approved a lower dosage chemo because her platelets were still lower than they needed to be to get the full dosage. Andrea thought she would be going  back to teaching in August but because of the delay of chemo sessions her Mastectomy was rescheduled for July 20 and now she won’t be healed from surgery until September and then has radiation treatment from October to November…so no teaching this fall. Please pray for Andrea’s platelet levels to be in the desired range to continue her chemo treatments and continue to pray for Andrea, Mike and the family through this challenging time.

Ken Lauderdale started 6 months of chemo on March 1st. Please continue to keep Ken and Linda in your prayers. Address: 75 Old Edwards Road, Arnoldsville, GA 30619.

Ludlow Lawson continues to recover from heart surgery at home. Please continue to pray for Ludlow’s recovery. Cards of encouragement may be sent to Ludlow at 137 Ashbrook Drive, Athens, GA 30605.

Mollie Mostert is in Pakistan encouraging the churches there. Please pray for her safety and the safety of those hosting her.

Dear brothers and sisters, 
I want to share the good news that my father-in law Johnny Baca is at home now making significant strides in his recovery everyday. He is a walking miracle. 
He is cautiously optimistic he will be able to attend Terri’s graduation next month. I praise God for that!
Thank you for your prayers and the cards.  He was very encouraged so many of his brothers and sisters from our ministry thought enough to send a card to lift him up during this time. I am deeply grateful for you all.

Our Deepest Condolences
Anthony Alford’s oldest living relative, Aunt Mary Elizabeth Elder (Mama), passed on March 25 after contracting Covid-19. She was 96 years old. Cards can be sent to Anthony and family at 1481 Ashland Drive, Statham, GA 30666.

Kristine Garcia’s sister Karen passed recently and she also lost her father just last year (she couldn’t be with either of them or her family in the Philippines). Please keep Kristine in your prayers as she deals with so much loss and pray for her to have wisdom on how to care for her mother. Nancy Goodwin’s mom Doris LaGravinese passed recently. Please continue to keep Nancy and the family in your prayers. Cards of love and support may be sent to Nancy and the family at 132 Oakmont Circle, Winterville, GA 30683.

Linda Minter’s father Frank Oddo passed away last week. Please continue to pray for Linda and the family. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Below is the link to volunteer for our children’s ministry. We are in need of 12-15 volunteers each week. For April, May, June and July we are looking for a 1 month commitment. We are reopening all the kids classes 0-5th grade (with Covid restrictions). This is a great way to get to know  some of the sweet families and children in our church.

The Young Professionals Ministry will be meeting at the church building this Thursday at 7pm to continue the study of the Fruit of the Spirit. This week’s devotional is on Goodness led by Amanda Biddlecome. We ask that everyone wears a mask!

Swamp registration opens up on April 15th, which translates to midnight tomorrow night.

Greetings Family,

After a much needed break we are ready to continue with the series “Carry One Another’s Burdens”. The classes will be every two weeks beginning on Saturday morning May 1 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. There are 7 sessions. This series is a transformation of perspective. In order to carry someone’s burden we must understand it enough to have empathy for them. Our own experience, perception, and biased views can blind us from having this understanding and limit our ability to love someone that is not like us. Jesus told us to bring the nations together in his kingdom. This series will help us do that, to have closer relationships, and much more. If you want to be a part of this next series please reply to this email or contact Terry Morrow at 770-337-4455. It will be a Zoom meeting so you can attend from anywhere you have Internet. Most smart phones can access Zoom through your service provider as well.

All proceeded go to Generosity Sunday special contribution. There are 2 ways to participate:
1) Drop off any items for the garage sale starting Wednesday, April 28 at the church (times TBA). Please be aware if things are unsold they will be donated to charity . We cannot hold items to be picked up.
2. Rent a space for $25.00 and you will be responsible for your items as well as coverage for the day. Some members may want to give money from the garage sale for tax purposes.
**Please note after 2:30pm on May 1, we will not be able to house any sold or unsold items at the church.
