Alexa Pursell has her follow up on March 29th, but otherwise she’s doing great! She’s walking more everyday.

Denny Pyle continues to improve. His defibrillator surgery went well. Pray for his ability to eat and drink; kidneys to begin functioning; and direction for best rehabilitation center.

Marcia Redd’s sister Nancy Wheat fell in her kitchen yesterday and broke her shoulder. After an ER visit she is back home but had a really rough night with excruciating pain. Please pray for healing and relief. Cards may be sent to Nancy at 2615 Stewart Drive, Waco, TX 76708-1136.

Do you have a child that is interested in acting or singing? We are offering classes every 2nd Sunday from 10:30 am-12:00 pm. This is for ages 5-14. If you would like more information or a registration form, please email acocchildrensministry@gmail.com or text 706-713-6727.

Please meet in the courtyard at the church building instead of at the Howards’ home on Sunday, March 13th about 30 minutes after service for lunch and to discuss the middle school ministry after Adam steps down in May. Invite is for all middle school parents and those who will be next school year. 
Children are welcome! Please RSVP by 6 pm today to this email with the number attending for lunch so we can get an accurate count.

 
“La Table” is just around the corner.  We are excited about this year’s event and the addition of the Silent Auction/Bake Sale!  All proceeds from the baked good auction will go to Family Promise of Athens.

We are hoping to have a cake or pie from each host and support congregation to display for the Silent Auction at La Tabla.  Most congregations have some special bakers in their midst.  Are you a baker that would like to contribute your specialty to this benefit?

In an effort to make things as simple as possible for everyone, we will have cake containers and rounds available for the bakers in the host room at Milledge Avenue Baptist Church (after 5:00 pm) and also at the Day Center (8:30 am – 5:00 pm) beginning March 15.  

Cakes can be dropped off at the Athens Country Club the day before the event (Monday, March 21) from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.  Or if you need to make alternate arrangements for getting the cake or pie to the Country Club, please contact Patti or Kelly (see below contact information).  They are happy to help. 

We will also be having a “Pastor Bake Off” for the pastor’s cake that can raise the most money for Family Promise!  We have 3 pastors already ready for the challenge!  We would love to have more competition. If you are interested, please let us know. Nothing like a little friendly, competitive fundraising to add excitement to our event.

We hope this year’s La Table fundraiser for Family Promise is the most successful yet!  If you would like to be a  baker, please let us know via this email so that we have an idea of how many desserts we will have for the silent auction.

                                            A Time for Two

Join us for the Athens Church of Christ 2022 Marriage Retreat entitled “A Time For Two” held Friday and Saturday, March 18-19 at the beautiful Amicalola Falls Lodge and devote some time to your most valuable earthly relationship.

The retreat begins Friday evening at 7:30. There will be live music, dancing, and desserts. There will be two Saturday morning sessions with guest speakers Joseph and Lisa Washington and Randy and Theresa Scott from Gainesville, Florida. The Washingtons will be speaking to couples who have been married less than 25 years The Scotts will be speaking to couples married over 25 years.

What is included: Lodging for 1 night, breakfast and lunch on Saturday.
