Prayer Request & Update

Mollie Mostert will have a spine procedure on September 27th at Emory. This is for a spine stimulator implant for pain relief. in the last attempt in March, the surgeon could not wrap the wires around her vertebrae because they are too deteriorated. This time, a neurosurgeon will attempt to do the implant, using a different method. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. Cards may be sent to Mollie at 245 Holmes Avenue, Athens, GA 30606.

Update on Victor Payton from Gwendolyn Payton
Victor is stable. There has been some improvement but he may be in the hospital another week for antibiotics and to resolve some of the issues that are causing him pain. Thank you for your continued prayers. Cards may be sent to Victor at 189 Imperial Way, Bogart, GA 30622.

ACOC Host Week for Family Promise

Starting Sunday evening 9/26 through late afternoon on Sunday 10/3, we get the privilege to serve several families currently experiencing homelessness here in Athens.  There are many different ways to serve in a variety of formats that will easily fit your schedule and life situation. This will take place at the current static site which is Milledge Avenue Baptist Church. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have ANY questions or if you need me or Rachele to partner and serve with you for the first time.  Thanks so much!

DISCIPLE MAKERS SERIES

WANT TO BECOME MORE SKILLED AND CONFIDENT REACHING OUT TO OTHERS TO SHARE THE GOSPEL?

Make plans to participate in DISCIPLE MAKERS — Fall 7 Saturdays Seminars. Our first series will run Saturdays, September 25-November 6, 9:30-11:30am, and will focus on OUTREACH TRAINING! This series is highly recommended for those who are younger as disciples or inexperienced or lacking confidence sharing their faith and/or studying the Bible with others to help them become disciples.

Questions to consider when deciding if this series is something you should participate in:

1. How often do you share your faith in Jesus with those outside the church, and how comfortable are you doing it?

2. How are you doing initiating and nurturing non-Christian relationships in a way that could lead someone to Christ?

3. When is the last time you studied the Bible with someone to help them get to know God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

4. If you did share with someone who wanted to know more about the Gospel, how confident and equipped would you feel opening up the Bible and teaching them how to become a disciple of Jesus Christ?
