Prayer Request

Jack Russell’s maternal grandmother Nora Boyle passed last week. Please keep Jack and his family in your prayers, especially his mother Margaret Russell. Cards of sympathy may be sent to the family at 4028 Poplar Reserve Way, Buford, GA 30518.

Arrangements are as follows:

Viewing is Thursday, June 24 at Wages and Sons, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.
12-2 pm and 5-7 pm

Catholic Mass is Friday, June 25 at 11 am
St. Marguerite D’Youville Catholic Church, 85 Gloster Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.
Due to CDC guidelines, it has been requested that anyone attending mass that has not been vacccinated wear a mask.

Congratulations to Dr. Barbara Sims for her recent retirement from Newton County School System after 30 years in education! Barbara has worked as a classroom teacher and as an instructional coach, both at the K-5 level. She has also worked in several districts prior to working in Newton County and has received numerous awards over the years, including Teacher of the Year twice in Oconee County and once in Barrow County.

Barbara is looking forward to returning to education one day as a consultant or administrator, but right now, she’s very grateful for the time she’ll have to devote to her role as caretaker of her mother, Mrs. Nell Sims.

Congratulations, Barbara! Your brothers and sisters in Christ are very proud of you! Enjoy retirement!
