Hello Brothers and Sisters of the ACOC!
As most of you know, in 2018 the Athens Church of Christ implemented a summer internship program designed to help prepare college-age men and women for spiritual leadership. Already, we have seen the program pay huge dividends as it has helped to raise up leaders who now work with our teens and campus ministries.
This year, we are going to do something slightly different, but with the same aim of mentoring spiritual growth and preparing future church leaders. Beginning Thursday, May 21, and running through Friday, July 31, the Athens Church of Christ will be sponsoring its inaugural SUMMER SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM.
This program is especially recommended for college students and young adults who want to learn to lead in God’s church, but is open to any baptized disciple who is willing to commit to the program’s summer schedule and expectations. The program will be aimed at teaching how to:
- build and nurture a strong personal walk with God.
- effectively pursue spiritual growth in oneself.
- effectively encourage and foster spiritual growth in others.
- effectively build relationships and share your faith with others.
- study the Bible with and help others become disciples of Jesus.
- mentor and walk with young Christians after baptism.
Due to Covid-19, this program will proceed in an online format if necessary.
Summer schedule will consist of 2 D-groups per week plus weekly ministry “assignments”.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THIS SUMMER’S PROGRAM, please send an email to acocservant@gmail.com including the following information: Name, age, family group/ministry of which you are a part, phone number, and email no later than May.
For questions, contact Kindred at (404) 202-2969.
NOTE: This is a voluntary program. There are no paid positions. We will work with your summer job schedule.
