Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
It’s that time of the year!! We are getting ready for the Christmas Program!!
This is an opportunity for all ages to participate. We need SINGERS!! Children, middle schoolers, teens, campus, singles, marrieds, young, or old !! We want to have from the young to the old singing together as part of our play this year.
Next practice is Sunday, October 23rd at 10:30 am. If you are currently a part of the worship team we will work with you to find a way for you to participate. We will be practicing every Sunday during the Worship Service time until the performance. We will also need a few extra rehearsals to be determined either on a Wednesday evening as well as the Saturday before the performance.
WE NEED YOU! PLEASE COME OUT AND JOIN US TO MAKE THIS A MEANINGFUL TIME FOR ALL!!
ACOC will be hosting a trunk or treat on October 29 from 6-8 pm. This is open to our church family and friends as well as the community. We need people to sign up and decorate their trunks. Kids will walk around to each trunk and get candy. We will also have hotdogs available. Click on the link to sign up for a parking space. Best trunk decoration gets a $25.00 gift card and bragging rights!
Leonard Patat and his mom Alberta live off South Milledge close to the bypass. Due to physical limitations, they need rides to the church building to be a part of the fellowship. No lifting is required, but Leonard is blind and needs direction to get out of the car and into their apartment and Alberta needs someone to hold on to for stability. We hope to involve as many as possible to assist and get to know the Patat’s. On House Church Sundays, they would like to meet with the group(s) that is/are meeting at the church building, so house church Sundays are included in this sign up.
Edith Chambers’ brother Peter passed Sunday evening from Pneumonia. Please keep Edith in your prayers. Cards of sympathy can be sent to her at: 2505 West Broad Street, #921, Athens GA 30606.
Update from Linda Lauderdale Please continue to pray for Ken Lauderdale. He was hospitalized at Athens Piedmont with sepsis early last Sunday morning. He was extremely ill but is now doing much better. He is fighting a bacteria that has been resistant to antibiotics but infectious disease doctors are managing this with a new antibiotic. There are significant kidney/urinary complications which need to resolve before he can start chemo for the adenocarcinoma in his pelvic lymph nodes. Whew! We truly appreciate your love and your prayers for healing! Love from Ken and Linda
