Hello Parents,
We wanted to let you know that tonight, at our Teen Midweek service, one of our interns, Jack Russell, will be announcing that he is stepping down at the end of January. Jack has done and continues to do an awesome job working with our youth. However, due to a challenging course load in this, his final semester, and a desire to take a more active role in the campus ministry before he graduates in May, Jack is stepping out of his role as a teen leader. He reaches this decision after seeking advice from Kindred, Jeff Rorabaugh, and others, and we in the Athens Church of Christ leadership team support him and thank him for all he’s done.
Also, last week, Ari Chester shared with parents and middle schoolers that she is stepping out of an official role serving the middle school girls. We apologize for some miscommunication that kept us from giving our parents more of a heads up. But know that we love and support Ari as well in her decision, and we are grateful for all she has done for the middle school ministry.
We will plan on taking a few moments on Sunday to thank Jack and Ari as a church. We will keep you informed regarding future plans for our youth ministry.
