Tomorrow night – Wednesday, May 15
Men’s Midweek

From the McClarys:
Wow! Just wow! We are home!  God’s power is unbelievable. Docs can’t believe how fast Chase recovered and with no long term damage.  Faith has been renewed and built among so many. We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, prayers, texts, and calls from all of you!  Saying thanks just doesn’t seem enough.
Specific Prayers: 1. Find root of the seizures 2. Be patient with the process

Cards of encouragement can be sent to:
3720 Mars Hill Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9

There has been a lot of talk these days about learning to set boundaries in our adult lives. It starts in childhood…learning to accept boundaries set by parents and those in authority in our lives, and then learning how to set healthy boundaries as an adult. Setting healthy boundaries was paramount for me in having a calm, safe, and well-managed classroom as a teacher, and it is even more important in the home. This principle is clear in the Bible. Even those who don’t claim to follow the Bible see the need for setting boundaries to help our children be safe, happy, and secure.

I love what Siggie Cohen, Ph.D, has to say about boundaries with kids: “Boundaries are not questions. Boundaries are parameters and guidelines to keep your child safe and cared for…Boundaries are not questions – they’re clear, direct, reasonable, consistent, and respectful statements you make and then act on. By the way, there is plenty of room for questions and reflection and curiosity in your parenting. Just not in your boundaries 🙂 Do you ever find yourself asking your boundary instead of stating it?”

Watch this very short video to hear her give some great advice in setting boundaries:
