 December 23, 2023

Please join us tomorrow for our
Christmas Eve worship service at 10:30 AM.

We will also be live streaming the service on our Facebook page and at
Athens Church of Christ.

Every Christmas many of us receive Christmas cards from family and friends updating us on their lives and pictures highlighting the year! For our Christmas Eve Service this Sunday morning, I would like everyone (men, women, & children) to write a Christmas card to God and come prepared to share it! We will sing songs of praise and communicate our gratitude to our God for the Savior being born.
Thanks in advance!
Corrie

For the kids:
There will not be classes for the children this Sunday. Be sure to stop by the table at the back and pick up an activity/treat bag for your children as you come in the auditorium.

We are excited to share that Manny Meneses was baptized Friday morning 12/22/23.

Note: There will not be a church newsletter sent out on Tuesday, December 26.
Have a wonderful Christmas!

Matt Brooks is hoping for a few more internet savvy volunteers to help stream our Sunday and midweek gatherings.  Anyone interested can email him at matt@seoteric.com

Good news
From Tina Hopkins regarding her sister-in-law, Pat Allen: I would like the church to know that we are very thankful and appreciative for your prayers. Pat’s kidneys are now functioning well. Thank the Lord!

From Ron Pope regarding Tammy’s progress: The electrical cardioversion was a success! Tammy is back in normal sinus rhythm. She  is home now with a heart monitor for two weeks. We want to thank the church for their prayers and kind words. We both feel greatly supported.

  FAMILY PROMISE OPPORTUNITIES
Howdy, brothers and sisters!  We have our last opportunity in 2023 to help three currently unhoused families in our community through Family Promise of Athens.  We’ve been asked to help beginning Sunday, December 24 beginning at 5:00 PM (Christmas Eve) and going through Sunday, December 31 at 5:00PM (New Year’s Eve).  There are opportunities to serve as simple as just spending the night or just being there during the day on Saturday or Sunday.  Please visit the Signup Genius to see ways to help.  Rachele and I need extra help beginning on the 28th because we will be at Camp for a teen retreat.  Please also do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.  Thank you SO much for your desire to partner with God in loving Him and our neighbors!

Between now and the end of the year, we are seeking volunteers to serve as Ushers for 2024. You can sign up for a month, or specific Sundays over the coming year.  Three people are needed for each service. This is a great way to serve our family. You will need to arrive by 10:15 on the Sundays you serve. There will be a sign-up table in the foyer each Sunday in December. If you have any questions, be sure to reach out to Mike Rose. Thank you for your willingness to serve.

Women’s Advent Series – Today is the last day
