Men’s Midweek
Tomorrow night – Wednesday, August 9 @ 7:00 PM

Sunday 8/6 – Sunday 8/13 is an OPEN Week at Family Promise, meaning there is not a Host Congregation supplying volunteers for the week, so they are in need of people to sign up to volunteer. If you are available to take any slots, please sign up here:

I also saw other things in this life that were not fair. The fastest runner does not always win the race; the strongest soldier does not always win the battle; wise people don’t always get the food; smart people don’t always get the wealth; educated people don’t always get the praise they deserve. When the time comes, bad things can happen to anyone!
Ecclesiastes 9:11 (ERV)

Does “NO FAIR!” ring out at your house often? I found that in a child’s world, that usually means, “You have something I want” or “You get to do something I want to do.” In my classroom, children would see me eating a snack they liked and would call out, “No fair!” simply because they wanted it instead of the snack they had that day. Teaching children about how to have a healthy mindset about true inequities in life can be a bit more challenging. Simply saying something like, “Life’s not fair! Deal with it!” isn’t usually very helpful. I found some wonderful articles about teaching this concept to our children – from toddlers to teens.
