Hello Brothers and Sisters!
In light of the current concerns regarding the corona virus and after conferring as a leadership group and even reaching out to other church leaders to learn how they are dealing with the situation, we have elected to enact the following short-term plan for the Athens Church of Christ.
Starting this Sunday, March 15, and running through the end of the month, all congregation-wide meetings of the body are suspended. We will, however, meet for Sunday worship and midweeks via House Churches and Family Groups (in many cases the two are one and the same). However, even then, we ask you to use your own discretion regarding the degree to which you feel comfortable attending a gathering.
In addition, Kindred will be live streaming a lesson Sundays at 10:30am, for the benefit and encouragement of those who elect or are unable to attend a house church. If you are someone who is considered “high risk” (someone who is older or has a pre-existing health condition), then please, be wise and use your discretion.
If you are not in a family group but would like to make sure to stay in touch with others or perhaps even join a family group (even just virtually, via text, emails, etc.) at this time, then please feel free to contact one of the following people who would be happy to help.
