Peter McWhorter’s Passing
(From Helen Hillman who was Peter’s neighbor, sister in the Lord and friend)
Good morning church, “Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14).
Our new brother in Christ, Peter McWhorter who was baptized into Christ on February 1, 2020, left his earthly tent on Sunday, March 15th. He is now resting in the arms of Jesus without pain, blindness and disease. We rejoice in God’s sovereign love that rescued Peter at just the right time even while we grieve because he will be missed. I am so grateful for the men who took up the charge to drive to Madison on a regular basis to teach Peter the truth over the past months and for each of you who opened your arms wide every Sunday since his baptism when the church gathered. The last song we heard him singing and clapping to with much new fervor was Thank You, Lord. So let the church say, “Thank You, Lord. There is no one under heaven like You, who gave the Spirit to lead us and the blood of Jesus to save us. Thank You.”
