The Giving Tree for the Single Parents
Please remember our single parents/children by contributing to The Giving Tree. You can give to The Giving Tree at athenscoc.com/give/ (be sure to choose the drop down for The Giving Tree instead of Regular Contribution) or bring a gift card to church on Sunday. We will be giving out the gifts after service on Sunday.
One of the sponsors of Operation Open Hearts, Open Hands is Miss6on. This is the organization Scott Kennedy came and spoke about a couple of weeks ago. Great opportunity to serve. Donations such as jackets, sweatshirts, serviceable tents, sleeping bags, blankets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, gloves, hats, etc are needed. Folks can just drop by for a little bit and encourage the folks who are homeless. Might want to bring a chair to sit in. BBQ will also be served. Details in flyer above.

MANY THANKS to all who gave so generously to buy Christmas gifts for the children of disciples in Pakistan. This encourages the parents so much to know they are loved and remembered. Some of them are getting persecution now. Please pray for their faith to be strong and to be safe.
The donations are enough for each of the 150 children to have two gifts this year-something practical like shoes or jacket, and also get a toy! They don’t have toys, so this is HUGE for them! When they get their gifts, the excitement of the children will be amazing!

Steve Baker tested positive for Covid recently. Please pray for him not to develop pneumonia. Because he has COPD, pneumonia is a major concern. Marva Cheapoo will have back surgery to remove a cyst on her spine on Friday, December 16. Please be praying for Marva’s surgery and recovery.
