For tonight’s congregational midweek, Scott Kennedy is going to be giving a brief presentation about an organization he’s a part of called Miss6on. ((See below).
Afterwards, we’ll be updating the church on the hiring process thus far.
Miss6on Description
Miss6on is a 5013c which seeks awareness for Veterans struggling with Homelessness, Substance use disorder, Mental health, PTSD, Military sexual trauma, and needing post service life-support for families of veteran’s. We’re hoping for collaboration with the faith based community. Miss6on needs advocates to support our services through awareness, volunteers and fundraising. 100% of our services are offered without cost to veteran’s and their families.

The Giving Tree for the Single Parents
Good morning church! We are excited to share that it’s that time of year again to do something special for our single parents. The Giving Tree will be up in up in the courtyard on Sunday December 4 and filled with gift tags for the children in our church family with a single parent.
The kids will each receive two gifts/gift cards. On each tag you will see an age, gender, and an item they would like for Christmas. If you feel like this is something you would enjoy participating in please go pick a tag off the tree. Please be sure to give us the tag number you take so we can be sure all the children get their gifts. If you also want to help a single mom, please donate a $25 gas or gift card. We ask that you bring the gifts wrapped with the tag you took attached to it and place it at the Giving Tree. All gifts need be delivered by Sunday December 18 before worship so they can be distributed after worship. Thank you in advance for being a little elf working behind the scenes to bring a big smile to some of “our” children’s faces! Thank you for encouraging the single parents in the Athens Church family.
Matthew 6:3-4 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Love to all,
Terry and Cricket
Opportunity to Provide Christmas Presents
for Children of Disciples in Pakistan
The disciples in Pakistan are too poor to buy Christmas gifts for their children. Average income per family is $130. $100 goes for a one room apartment. Aged parents, husband and wife and their children all live in this room. Communal toilets are outside and cooking is also outside over a fire.
The remaining $30 is for food, transportation, medical, school fees, clothing, etc. Because they are Christian, they get only the lowest paying jobs. It is impossible for them to buy Christmas gifts for their children.
Please help with donations to provide gifts for these 150 children.
Checks can be made out to South Asia Mission Society and are tax deductible.
I will be in the back of the sanctuary on Congregational Midweeks and Congregational Sundays to collect.

WHEEL CHAIR NEEDED
We are in need of a wheelchair for the church building. If you have one to donate, please respond to this email.
Leonard Patat and his mom Alberta live off South Milledge close to the bypass. Due to physical limitations, they need rides to the church building to be a part of the fellowship. No lifting is required, but Leonard is blind and needs direction to get out of the car and into their apartment and Alberta needs someone to hold on to for stability. We hope to involve as many as possible to assist and get to know the Patat’s. On House Church Sundays, they would like to meet with the group(s) that is/are meeting at the church building, so house church Sundays are included in this sign up.
